noise regulations

Limits loudness and timing of noise, with short public-interest exemptions.

Whether any future permit conditions or enforcement steps address barking/noise complaints tied to the humane society site.

Typically discussed at City Council. Check back when the next agenda is published.

On Nov 3, council rejected a rule change that would’ve let the City Manager approve up to 3-day noise exemptions, on a 6-3 vote. That same night, council approved the Lakeshore Humane Society’s Columbus Street permit 9-0 after one resident raised barking/noise concerns. Separately, the city also tightened up sidewalk snow-clearing rules and talked through how enforcement works during back-to-back storms.
