mariners trail coastal resilience project

Plans to strengthen shoreline, protect habitat and keep Mariners Trail usable.

Whether the DNR awards either grant, and whether the riverfront trail work hits the end-of-June completion expectation.

Typically discussed at Advisory Recreation Board. Check back when the next agenda is published.

City Council has been stacking up the “permission and funding” pieces around Mariners Trail and the West Twin riverfront: a trail easement deal, plus two separate state grant applications (stormwater work and a fence replacement). All three votes were unanimous, and the easement was described as the key legal step to build the riverfront trail segment, with work expected to wrap by late June.
