public hearing scheduling process

Lets the clerk set public hearing dates for the council and boards.

Watch future agendas to see whether public hearing notices are consistently posted in “Information Only” and whether they’re also highlighted elsewhere.

Typically discussed at City Council. Check back when the next agenda is published.

On Nov. 3, 2025, the City Council unanimously changed the rules so the City Clerk can set public hearing dates without a separate council vote to “call” the hearing. The practical change for residents: public hearing notices are expected to show up in the agenda’s “Information Only” section, so you’ll have to know to look there.
