New apartment buildings in a neighborhood area

Watch for follow-up permits and plan details that affect neighbors most—landscaping, parking layout, construction timing, and how the emergency-only gate is managed.

Typically discussed at City Council. Check back when the next agenda is published.

Two 3-story apartment buildings (52 units total) at 3000 Forest Ave are approved, after Plan Commission recommended it 6-0 and Council passed it 8-0. The public hearing had zero speakers, even though this kind of project can change traffic, parking, and day-to-day feel nearby. The plan also includes an emergency-only gated driveway and a required fire hydrant move.
