City Council voted 5-4 on Sept. 8 to add a separate, districtwide tax-bill line for $1,067,225.50 in school funding withheld for private-school vouchers in 2025-26. The line is informational; it does not calculate a separate amount for each property owner or change the tax bill.

They said voucher costs are set after much of the district budget is built and that state aid withheld for vouchers may require property-tax increases to offset the loss; Council took no action.

The resolution cited $1,067,225.50 for the 2025-26 school year. Derby made the motion and D. LeClair seconded it; Dahlke, B. LeClair, Petri and Wachowski voted no.
